Peonia Grande cotton bedding combines key trends of photorealism and a new language of flowers. The floral design achieves such detail and sense of depth and dimension because it originated as an original hand-painted masterpiece. Peach hues dominate the range of pastels used in the bouquets that are set against a soft gray background. Designers Guild, 212-967-4540, designersguild.com
Made in the U.S. with 82 percent wool and 18 percent cotton, the Meridian Crossing design is inspired by the Prime Meridian—the starting point for lines of longitude that intersect with latitudes in the centuries-old system of navigation. The reversible pattern presents white crosses that mark the intersection of invisible longitude/latitude lines against maritime channels of blue and gray on one side and crosses that fill a soft white ground representing the polar ice caps, where North and South Poles mark the terminating points of every meridian line, on the other side. Napped with whipstitch binding, the bedding is offered in 54- by 64-inch throw, 90- by 90-inch queen and 108- by 90-inch king sizes. Pendleton Woolen Mills, 503-226-4801, pendleton-usa.com
Taifun in bottleglass is a six-color, yarn-dyed jacquard woven with 65 percent Egyptian cotton and 35 percent silk. The classic paisley pattern is modernized with the beauty of silk and the intricate, soft colorations. The cotton/silk blend is washable, making it a livable luxury that can be enjoyed for years. The Van Dael Raspberry Bouquet 22- by 22-inch pillow draws inspiration from still life paintings by Flemish painter Jan Frans van Dael. Using traditional Flemish and Dutch still life painting techniques, van Dael painted with incredible detail in a soft palette of colors. The pillow portrays flowers in jewel tones on a dark chocolate background. Pillows are printed on the front and back on polyester satin and stuffed with a feather insert. Finishing touches include knife edging and an invisible zipper. Poetic Pillow, 415-868-5628, poeticpillow.com
Geometric patterns are hand stamped using hand-carved wood blocks and low-impact dyes on Kora (unbleached) cotton to create these placemats and napkins. Offered in sets of four, the napkins and placemats each measure 14 by 20 inches. The designs are handmade by a women’s self-help group from western India. This work is an important avenue for the financial and social regeneration of families displaced when a national park was created on their land.
