Left: The Saõ Paulo-based Passamanaria Chacur Ltd. (011-55-11-3392-7500, chacur.com.br) was started in 1918 by Silvia Chacur Erat's grandfather and continues to produce exquisite trimmings. All of Chacur's products are still woven on manual looms, and the company can work with clients for custom designs and palettes.

Custom pillows and decorative fabrics by Don't Eat the Eagle (703-533-2033, donteattheeagle.com) debuted at the Home Textiles Show. Founder and owner Kimberly Badenhop is a former White House staffer, and the name derives from an incident where she witnessed someone repeatedly plucking the feathers of a handcarved decorative chocolate eagle at a White House holiday reception. Badenhop recalls wanting to say "Don't eat the eagle," and it's turned into a metaphor for not getting so caught up with where you are that you lose sight of what's important.
