Nature's shadows are the inspiration for L.A.-based Amenity's (213-624-7309,
amenityhome.com) 400-thread-count printed cotton duvet covers.
The organic print designs are carried through in a new line of
100% Belgian linen pillows, launched at the show. Co-founders Kristina
de Corpo (left) and Nicole Chiala stand next to the Leaf bed in

With its roots in women's wear, Joolay Home's (212-594-8492) new
line of decorative pillows exhibit fashion flourishes and detailing
from embroidery and beadwork, to pintucking and overprinting on
a variety of fabrics.

The Saõ Paulo-based Passamanaria Chacur Ltd. (011-55-11-3392-7500,
chacur.com.br) was started in 1918 by Silvia Chacur Erat's grandfather
and continues to produce exquisite trimmings. All of Chacur's products
are still woven on manual looms, and the company can work with
clients for custom designs and palettes.
Custom
pillows and decorative fabrics by Don't Eat the Eagle (703-533-2033,
donteattheeagle.com) debuted at the Home Textiles Show. Founder
and owner Kimberly Badenhop is a former White House staffer, and
the name derives from an incident where she witnessed someone repeatedly
plucking the feathers of a handcarved decorative chocolate eagle
at a White House holiday reception. Badenhop recalls wanting to
say "Don't eat the eagle," and it's turned into a metaphor for
not getting so caught up with where you are that you lose sight
of what's important.

Wayra (212-222-4100, wayraperu.com), which means ‘wind of
the Andes,' came to New York for the first time because "we wanted
the world to know what we do," explained Amelia Ganoza (right),
marketing and sales representative, shown with Patricia Zevallos,
office manager. Wayra provides ‘sustainable development'
by employing women who work in their own homes to hand knit its
natural fiber throws and apparel.
